Mindfulness to Let Go of Addictions

At times, the force of our addictions seem so heavy as they
weigh us down. Somehow, that doesn’t cause us to loosen
our grip and let go. We just grasp tighter, not realizing there
is a better, more pleasant way.

We get home from work, and before we know it, we have opened a bottle of beer and begun drinking. We may want to relax, we may be bored, or we may want pleasure. Or, we light a cigarette every 30 minutes or every hour and puff away, seemingly grateful for this transient pleasure.

Of course, we know that these pleasures come at a severe cost to our health and to our relationships. We are so blinded by our addictions that we don’t realize that it is more pleasurable to live life without addictions!

Join us as we learn to let go of our addictions with
mindfulness.

There are essentially two steps to letting go
of addictions: First, set an intention that you are going to
quit. And second, whenever you have a craving, connect
with your motivation for quitting and recognize that the
craving is temporary and will pass through.

This session will be led by an experienced mindfulness teacher with direct personal experience of having quit drinking alcohol and having quit vaping e-cigarettes.

All are welcome.
